We help people of all ages in Lexington quickly recover from their pain and injuries so they can get back to doing the things they love without having to rely on painkillers or frequent doctor visits!

Kris Winders MSPT, CMP
Founder, Specialist Physical Therapist
Kris has worked as an outpatient physical therapist since graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina with a Master’s of Physical Therapy in 2006. From 2008-2015 he was Clinic Manager of an outpatient clinic on Daniel Island, South Carolina. During his time in South Carolina, Kris gained experience in all aspects of outpatient therapy, and worked with a wide range of clients from children to geriatrics. He also picked up a certification as a Mulligan Practitioner, one of only 3 physical therapists in KY with this certification.
Kris is very familiar with the Lexington community, as he is a 2002 graduate of Transylvania University. He’s extremely grateful for the opportunity to share his knowledge and passion for injury prevention and recovery with Lexington, and he and his wife are excited to raise their 2 boys in the Big Blue Nation. He prides himself in running a clinic that is friendly, upbeat, and fun. Just because you’re in pain, it doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time! He is honored that you’ll allow him to assist you on your path to healing, hopefully helping you smile along the way.

Emily Lewis
DPT, Clinic Manager
Emily grew up here in Lexington, but attended Marquette University for her undergraduate degree where she majored in communications and in elementary and middle school education.  She worked as the assistant director at Aldersgate Camp and Retreat Center for 3 years following school, prior to her decision to return to school. She received her doctor of physical therapy degree from Duke University, but she is still an avid UK fan.  She spends her free time running, hiking, camping, boating, sampling local cuisine, and practicing Michael Jackson dance moves.  She loves working with people of all ages and playing name that tune with anyone who will participate.
Britt Colston
DPT, Director of Women's Health
Britt Colston, PT, DPT graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, TN with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2012. After working for 5 years in Nashville, life has now led her back to Lexington, the city she was born, to continue her career as a full-time pelvic floor specialist. Britt has undergone extensive training in physical therapy interventions for all conditions related to pelvic floor muscle dysfunction, pregnancy, and postpartum recovery.
Britt is a mother herself of two wild and beautiful boys, which has only furthered her understanding of the struggles women face through all stages of creating a new life. She is passionate about educating women in prevention and providing them with the knowledge and behavioral modifications needed to manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life.
Additionally, Britt brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in manual techniques and neuromuscular re-education exercises designed to decrease tension and abnormal holding patterns in the tissues and to regain the functional strength and stability the body may have lost.
Britt has four years of experience using surface electromyography(sEMG)-assisted biofeedback. This service is used by the therapist as an evaluative tool for pelvic floor muscle dysfunction, but more importantly to provide visual feedback to increase patients’ awareness and understanding of how to use their muscles correctly.
Britt is new to BBN Physical Therapy, but shares the clinic’s vision to see an increased awareness for women’s health/pelvic floor issues among medical providers and the public and to provide readily-available, high-quality and specialized care for women and mothers to live pain-free, fully functional lives.
Kelsey Karnes
DPT, Pelvic Floor Specialist
Kelsey grew up in Paducah, Kentucky but moved to Lexington to obtain an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Kentucky and then a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She originally started her career in the orthopedic field, but after attending continuing education classes for women’s health, realized it was her passion. Kelsey joined the BBN Physical Therapy team in January 2020 and has absolutely loved getting to serve the women of Lexington.
She is dedicated to improving awareness of pelvic health in Lexington and surrounding areas. In her free time Kelsey enjoys serving in her local church, running, biking, swimming, and anything else that involves being outdoors. Kelsey understands how important activities like these are for quality of life and will do whatever she can to see her patients get back to the things they love!
